Veronica was born in Queensland and completed her first degree BA Hons, English at Queensland University, St. Lucia, and Dip. Ed. at Monash University, Melbourne. She trained initially in art at the Victorian College of the Arts, Melbourne, then completed a Masters in Visual Art at Charles Sturt University.
She taught Creative and Visual Arts at Darwin Community College, at Frankston Teachers College and at the Illawarra Institute of TAFE, Bega Campus. Currently Veronica is teaching workshops and classes in drawing and painting both privately and for various arts organisations.
Her art practice has taken her to many residencies in the Northern Territory, Queensland and NSW. Her 180 court drawings for the Chamberlain trial were purchased in 2011 by the National Museum of Australia, ACT. The collection of these drawings can be viewed on line on the National Museum site: www. nma.gov.au/chamberlain
Veronica's landscape and still life paintings are informed by her background in the arts, and dedication to the act of drawing from the natural world. She has an extensive collection of sketchbooks kept from travels in Australia, Brazil, Samoa and these become the source for landscape drawings and paintings and vibrant still life studies of fruit and native flowers.
Veronica has exhibited throughout Australia over the past 30 years and been the recipient of many artist residencies at Cobourg Marine National Park and Uluru in the Northern Territory.
In 2010 and 2011 she was a finalist in the Waterhouse Natural History Art Prize at the South Australian Museum. Her work has been selected in the final exhibition for the Mosman Art Prize 2013 and 2010, the Countryscapes Landscape Award, and the Meroogal Historic Trust Award.
She works across a variety of genres landscape, still life, and drawing, painting and printmaking. Her solo exhibitions have been held throughout Australia: Darwin, ACT, Sydney, WA and her work is held in several major collections.
In January- February 2016 Veronica conducted En Plein Air Workshops on King Island.
